Biography of Cynthia
With the hits "Change On Me," "Thief of Heart," "Love Me Tonight" and "Dream Boy/Dream Girl" under her belt, all garnering Billboard chart action, Cynthia is poised to go to the next level of her career. Breaking new ground in 1999, her new album Thinking About You, contains the recent hit single "If I Had The Chance" and the new single "I Never Said." The new album from Robbins Entertainment, executive produced by Joey Gardner, with tracks produced by Tony Moran (Whitney Houston, Gloria Estefan, Celine Dion) is not only a collection of thumping dance beats, it also includes the latest innovative sounds as she collaborates with up-and-coming writers, lyricists and even rappers. It exposes another side of Cynthia that proves she is more than ready to make the leap all the way to the top of the charts. Cynthia was born and raised in Spanish Harlem. As a child drawn to music, she sought inspiration from the brightest stars of the time such as disco legend Donna Summer. With the guidance of a good friend in the music business, Cynthia experienced the life of a live performer first hand. "At that moment I thought, I could do this and more importantly, I knew I wanted to," Cynthia says. One year later, Cynthia signed a recording contract and had written her first song "Change On Me." The success of her first single continued as "Endless Nights" and three more hit singles from her debut album Cynthia, made its mark on New York, Chicago, Miami and Texas and established Cynthia as one of dance music's biggest and brightest stars. Cynthia was quickly followed up by another full-length album, Cynthia II, which helped solidify her position as the Queen of Freestyle. Cynthia followed up the success of "If I Had The Chance," (which took New York City by storm, remaining on dance music station WKTU's top ten for over 24 weeks!) by releasing the title track "Thinking About You," another radio-driven hit produced by Andy and the Lamboy with remixes by Lenny "Linus" Douglas, Rich P and Slammin' Sam. The success of "Thinking About You" was quickly followed up with "I Never Said," a pop tune with old school flavor and slammin' club remixes by Denny Tserros with Eddie Baez and Giuseppe D. "I love Freestyle and it will always be a part of me, which is why we released "If I Had The Chance," to give my fans what they asked for. I'm ecstatic and love the direction of the new album. It's an amazing feeling to be on stage singing for audiences, as they sing along with me. I've put my heart into this album for the fans' love and support throughout the years and I believe it's been well worth the wait" says Cynthia.
