4/6/04 THE BAKER DEMO
Today was the day of the BAKER demo...so let me tell you a story : At about 4:45, fashionably late of course, A monstrous red bus that said "BAKER" all over it showed up at the skatepark. Thousands of kids pranced about in awe and anticipation for there skateboard heroes. As Andrew Reynolds, Erik Ellington, Jeff Lenoce, Kevin "Spanky" Long, Braydon Szafranski, and Bryan Herman (Evan Hernandez did attend but could not skate because of a reason that I have yet to learn... I heard somewhere he was sick) walked into the skatepark, a sudden silence came about. The team hopped on their boards and skated around, no one saying a word, well exept for Dion's occasional outbursts. After a few minutes they started "laying the hammers" and the silence was broken. I feel sorry for you If you missed this demo--It was insane. Andrew Reynolds popped and amazing frontside flip over the pyramid to flat, then, not finished, he shifty flipped it. Erik Ellington skated around and did some crazy stuff, he Kickflipped the pyramid to flat, and other extravagent things. Jeff Lenoce glided around the park with impeccable style-- he backside grabbed the long platform pyramid with ease...first try, he kickflipped off the side of it, frontside flipped off the side, switch 360 flipped the pyamid, and other things that have run away from my brain. Spanky did some wild maneuvers, such as a frontside bluntslide kickflip out. Braydon killed the sixfoot mini ramp. Bryan Herman and the other deestroooyed the bench; Herman nollie frontside noseslid it, switch crooked it, kickflip backside tailslid it, k/f b/s tailslid it to fackie, and kickflip frontside crooked it....ahh! Andrew Reynolds frontside noseslid with a weird way bigspin out, nolle half cab crook reverted it, nollied over it, switch ollied over it, frontside flipped over it, and switch kickflipped over it. I don't remember what Spanky did on it...sorry. Well that was a long post so you better have liked it.
