Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace to the hearers. And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you (Eph.4:29-32). To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, showing all meekness unto all men (Titus 3:2). Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings (1 Peter 2:1). For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able to bridle the whole body (James 3:2). In the body of Christ we have heard much teaching about speaking to our mountains ( Mark 11:23). However there has been little teaching in the area of creating a mountain or stronghold with the words of our mouth. Words are a creative force, designed with the power to fulfil themselves. Positive words build up, edify, remove sickness and abolishes negative forces operating in our lives. In the same way negative words tear down, bringing death, destruction and sickness, building strongholds of unbelief and disaster. Steering our course spiritually is done largely by the words of our mouth. Not only while we are in church or during our prayer time but in every area and relation. The angels are ministering spirits to the heirs of salvation, hearkening to the word of God (we speak) and bringing it to pass in our life for our good. There again in the same manner the fallen angels (the one third that were cast out of heaven with Lucifer) are waiting to hear our negative confession to aid in bring it to pass for our harm. We execute our God given dominion or our surrender of the same with the words we speak. The topic we are focusing on this month is evil speaking, which involves a more detailed definition than I first realized. Strong's definition of evil speaking in the Greek 987; to vilify; specifically to speak impiously:-(speak) blaspheme (-er, -mously, -my), defame, rail on, revile, speak evil. Vine's says see blasphemy. That is a strong word, we just don't usually consider negative speaking as blasphemy. But if we look at it in light of God's word we can better understand that when we talk contrary to the word of God it is evil speaking, or when we speak evil of one created in the image of God, it is easier to see it as blasphemy. Verbal abuse is a blatant form of evil speaking (blasphemy). Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be (James 3:10). Sticks and stones will break your bones. The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity; but a wounded spirit who can bear (Prov.18:14). But the tongue no man can tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison (James 3:8). God can tame our tongue, and keep watch over our mouth if we ask: Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips (Ps.141:3). We must hide the word of God in our heart for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks (Mat.12:34). The word of God is life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. Keep your heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee (Prov. 4:22-24). But as He which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation (1 Peter 1:15). In all things showing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine showing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you (Titus 2:7-8). No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgement thou shalt condemn (Is. 54:17). For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned (Mat.12:37). There is that speaketh like the piercing of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health (Prov. 12:18). The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: (Prov.10:11). Whoso offereth praise glorifieth Me (God): and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God (Ps. 50:23). Let us hold fast the profession (confession) of our faith without wavering; for He is faithful that promised (Heb.10:23). Jesus is the Apostle and High Priest of our confession (Heb. 3:1). Let us speak the truth in love, that we may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: (Eph. 4:15). Glory to God!!!
