Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God our Father (Gal.1:3-4). I think we could all certainly agree that the world we live in is evil. I also know this is not a popular topic. Be that as it may, God put it on my heart to gain a better understanding of just what evil is. I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me (Rom.7:1). I pray for each one of us that God would enlighten the eyes of our understanding, and give us even more revelation in this area.

Evil--a force that opposes God and His work of righteousness in the world (Rom.7:8-19). The word is also used for any disturbance to the harmonious order of the universe, such as disease (Ps.41:8). But the Bible makes it plain that even so called "physical evil" are the result of far more serious moral and spiritual evil that began with the fall of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden (Gen.3). (Nelson's New Illustrated Bible Dictionary)

Evildoer--one who does evil wicked acts. The psalmist equates "evildoer" with "workers of iniquity" (Ps.37:1). Generally the word "evildoer" is applied to the enemy of God and His people (Is.14:20). It also is applied to the Israelites when they forsook the Lord (Is.9:17). (Nelson's New Illustrated Bible Dictionary)

Evil Eye--a symbolic phrase that refers to the sinful will of an envious, selfish person (Deut.15:9; Mat.6:23; 20:15). (Nelson's New Illustrated Bible Dictionary)

Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! (Is.5:20). Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but counterwise blessing; knowing that ye are there unto called, that ye should inherit a blessing. For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile; Let him eschew evil and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it. For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil (1Peter 3:8-12). Be not overcome with evil, but overcome evil with good (Rom.12:21). Abstain from all appearance of evil. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly: (1 Thes.5:22-23a). Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God (3John 11). Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous (1John 3:12). But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves (Jude 10). But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy (James 3:14-17). To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, showing all meekness unto all men (Titus 3:2). Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good (Rom.12:9). See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil (Eph.5:15-16). Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand (Eph.6:13).

Glory to God!!! The ministry we have been called to is alive and growing in leaps and bounds. We are ministering the word of God to all that He has given us. That is not to say things are always easy, for we have faced the assault of the enemy and are overcoming by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. Glory to God!!! God is faithful, He does hear and answer our prayers. We are co-laborers in the gospel as you are, as well as joint heirs. As we diligently seek Him and we are rewarded. Keep the faith, stand firm in and contend for the faith. We have been given all things that pertain to life and godliness. We are prepared and equipped to stand in the evil day in which we live. We are anointed and appointed, called and chosen, kings and priests, we are more than conquerors. We have overcoming faith residing on the inside of us. We have been given the finest of arsenal, the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but is mighty through God for the pulling down of strongholds.
