The Whole Armor of God

The helmet of salvation: Hebrews5: 9- And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him. Psalm 140: 7-O God the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.

The breastplate of righteousness: Romans 10: 4-For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. Romans 5: 21-For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin: that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Loins gird about with truth: John 14: 6-I am the way, the truth and the life. John 8: 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 16: 13-Howbeit when (He) the spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth.

Feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace: (gospel translates good news) Acts 17:11-These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. 1 Peter 3: 15-But sanctify the Lord in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear. 1 Timothy 4: 2-Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

The shield of faith: Romans 10: 17-Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Hebrews 12: 2-Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith: 1 Corinthians 2: 5-That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

The sword of the spirit: (which is the word of God) John 6: 63-It is the spirit that quickeneth: the flesh, profiteth nothing: The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. Colossians 3: 16-Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom: Proverbs 4: 22-For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit: Luke 18: 1-And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray and not to faint. Romans 8: 27-And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. 1 Thessalonians 5: 17-Pray without ceasing. 1 Corinthians 14: 15-I will pray with the Spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also. Ephesians 6: 18-Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.

Man was designed and created to walk in communion with the Lord. Upon becoming a new creation in Christ, we learn to renew our mind to the word of God, resulting in the mind of Christ residing in us. We learn to crucify our flesh daily with its affections and lusts. We learn to cultivate the kind of relationship God desires us to walk in, daily communion. As we do this we are praying without ceasing, speaking to God off and on all day long. But not only speaking to him but hearing him speak to us as well. This is walking in him, hidden in Christ, this is the way we walk in the whole armor of God. Glory to God!!!
