Statement To The Media (Death of William Vickrey)

William Vickrey was born in 1914 in Victoria, British Columbia. He received his Phd in 1947 at Columbia University in New York and was awarded, along with James A. Mirrlees, the 1996 Nobel Prize in Economics for "their fundamental contributions to the economic theory of incentives under asymmetric information."
