Daniel Hausman

Daniel Hausman is Associate Professor of Philosophy at the University of Maryland at College Park. He is currently at the School of Social Science of the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton. He studied at Harvard, Cambridge, Columbia, and New Y ork universities. His primary interest in economics is methodology. In regard to the relationship between philosophers and economists, he stated the following in his book, "The Philosophy of Economics: An Anthology":

"The questions that one can ask about economics far outstrip the answers that have been offered. The time is ripe for more effective collaboration between philosophers and economists...much more needs to be and can be learned about the nature of economic theories, about how to compare and assess them, about how to relate them to policy recommendations and empirical studies, and most importantly, about how to improve them."

Works by Daniel Hausman:

  • Capital, Profits and Prices: An Essay in the Philosophy of Economics
