Poetry For Becca's Second Birthday

Dead Daughter

Do you ever miss me
Long for my embrace
Want my Motherly kisses
Smothered all over your face

Do you ever imagine Cuddling closely
As lullabies ease you to sleep

Do you ever wonder
How it would be
To walk hand in hand
Down the street with me

Do you ever dream of >br> How different it could be
Here on earth
Celbrating with me as you turn 2

Do you ever wish
I could curl
Your bouncing red hair
High up in a pony tail

Do you ever want
To be with me
Wish you were here
Or I was there

I dream of all this
And millions of memories more
Dead daughter I miss and Love you
FOREVER AND MORE

I sit and stare
The grass is green around it
The oak tree gives it shade
The oak protects it from rain and snow
Shelters it from any storm
This place is lovely
Just right for toddlers to play
But for us that isn;t the case
I came here to celebrate the day of your birth
Amidst all this death
TWO YEARS!
Already it is over
Her life was but a flicker
In this flame of life
I look at the marker
Her permanent mark
There is not much more left
Just a few baby things
All put away
And my memories
That is all there is to stay
Gone so soon
Happy Birthday
You would be two
You will never know how I miss you
Bittersweet to celebrate
To grieve
Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday Dear Becca
Happy Birthday to You
