"The Strength Of God"
A little over one year ago I was going through one of the worst times in my life. I was having problems accepting that things sometimes change, and so do people. I did not want to to accept the change. Eventually, I grew more and more depressed, as I would cry out to God for help. No matter how hard I tried to pick myself back up it seemed I never had enough strength to get that far. I cried out for nine long months to bring me someone to encourage me. God answered my prayer! He sent me someone to lift me up, and give me hope once more. I never knew who this person was for many months. I would pray each day for God to reveal who they were. In the meantime, every day on schedule came this young man driving by always giving a wave and a gentle smile. Then one day the telephone rang. This was on Febuary 28, 2001. As I answered the telephone it was God's answer to my prayers. The man on the other end of the line said he wanted to thank me for waving and smiling each day. You see, his Father had passed away a couple of months before, and he said that God had used me to help him through this time. ( I never would have imagined a smile could do so much!) The Lord had used us both to give one another encouragement through a hard and lonely time. Over the next four months we became close friends. We had both found a new friend. To God be the glory! I will forever be thankful to the Lord for picking me up once again and showing me the strength of God, and also for blessing me with such a wonderful friend!!
