Edinburgh Castle is probably one of the most historic castles in Scotland. As much as I liked seeing the castle in Edinburgh, I was more than glad to get out of the big city again and back to Aberdeen.

There is a sightseeing program
that takes you around the castle and tells you what you are looking at,
if you are into the conventional tour. I'm not! Fortunately,
here they use a taperecording with headphones that you can type in the
number of what you want to see. That was great!
My favorite part about visiting
here were the fantabulous views you get from the castle grounds.
Pics are forthcoming showing some of those views.
I also found some great links
on the web about Edinburgh Castle so that you can learn about the great
history and see better pics than mine of this wonderful and historic royal
place of old Scotland.

After you buy the tickets,
one of the first things you see are the stairs that you climb to get to
the higher parts of the castle or you can take the long route around the
castle and climb the hill. I chose to take the stairs up and walk
down the hill. (I am a bit backwards that way!)
