I worked at a Chinese restaurant in San Francisco. During the first tournament, I dreamed of opening my own martial arts school. I am a master of martial arts. I heard about the first Iron Fist Tournament and it's cash prize that is granted to the winner. I needed to win the tournament to win the prize money and build my own dojo. I defeated the my opponents fairly easily, until I was faced again Wang Jinrey. We fought hard against each other, but he became victorious. However, I did earn enough money to open my dojo.

I took my flight back to America just as normal, and on the flight I noticed another participant from the tournament, Paul Phoenix. The two of us instantly hit it off and became friends.

During the second tournament, I ran my own martial arts dojo. Unfortunately, my students were attacked and severely injured. One of the students identified the man to be Again, I defeated my opponents fairly easily, until I was faced with Baek. He was a tough fight. Both of us restless. I did defeat him, but rather than continue with the tournament, I decided to leave. I had no need to stay and fight as I had done what I had came for.

I did not participate in the third tournament.By this time, I was a successful businessman. I managed a newly established dojo and even owned a nationwide Chinese fast food chain called Marshall China. Unfortunately, I lost a franchise war against a competitor and had to declare bankruptcy a year later. Though I did not compete in the third tournament, my son Forest did. He had gone with Paul without my permission. Upon his return, I punished him and forbid him to participate in any further tournaments. This outraged him and he ran away from home.

Unable to deal with my son leaving and my failure, I fell into depression and spent my days at home in a drunken haze. Then one day, a notice for the King Of Iron Fist Tournament 4 arrived at my doorstep. My eyes flashed with renewed vigor. After a month of intense training, I beat himself back into top physical form.

Something ignited a fire within me. “This is it,” I said to myself, “I must place everything on the line for this Tournament and win!” The fire within raged hotter than ever before.
