Here we are two days from Hostile Intent and Isaac Salinger still nurses his back. He's limping around his benign, shadowy but tidy hotel room. He turns in slow circles as if he's lost something. Finally, he stoops over and grabs a zip disc from the end table. He saunters to the dresser. The camera shifts just enough to tease the aforementioned dresser. You can make out the edges of it, but the rest of it is out of camera range. Isaac seems to be petrified in place as his mind swirls in thought then he looked down and noticed his journal.

Usually, there's a clinical feel about hotel rooms like this... the 30 buck a night places. Maybe that's what helps keep some sense of sanity for me in this mad-cap, fast-paced world of professional wrestling. There are always towels. The sheets are pressed and new. The TV sits squarely in the dresser, free from any dust. These are the types of hotels that I prefer. I'm not sponsored by LaW, yet. I've not been given refuge in the glitzy, downtown VIP hotel. Hell, I have to pay the costs out of my own pocket.

But, what about the laundry service? What's its significance? None, other than showing that the traveler lodging here likes to stay in tidy, quiet hotels in the outskirts of the metropolitan city. Some stay here because they never change. Some because it's a tradition.

I will never stay in hotels... the flea ridden, ursine hued holes... that even CBC wouldn't dare sleep in... No, I like my surroundings to be precise. I like to rest assured that people running the business took pride in themselves and in their work. A work ethic tells a lot about a person. A hotel maid's work ethic is to do the least amount of work as possible. How does one work the least amount possible? It's like a doctor's shot, painful to think about but when it's over, it's over, and it's usually over before you know it.

Long, sweeping scribbles.

I appreciate order; I appreciate tradition... but when the celebrated tradition is WORTHLESS from the outset... so I stays in hotels that are more known for their service than their renown. A pristine enviroment is a perfect compliment to my mental instability, my dose of thrush. I must rise above the status quo. I must unbalance my balance. Equilibrium is happiness; shift your weight...

Carved into the ledger with a strong hand.

K A I T A N O - I T E N D S F R I D A Y

I'm gonna rock the boat. Who will have more balance? Kai's dead set, out-dated, and flat out boring "traditions"... or whatever you call his twisted credo... his one-dimensional persona... or my developing color, creative persona? ARGH!

The page has been severed at the bottom my many slashes back and forth by a pen.

These thoughts tore through Isaac's mind as he shifts in place. The TV, the staple of consistency to any vagabond's hotel escapades, was nowhere to be found. Plugs still dangle in place, caught under the large mirror centered on the dresser. It was like it had been ripped from the wall and thrown aside.

Well, it had been. It now lies in state near the base of the sole window. It's screen cracked. The tangled shell lay around the tube like a python with an elephant. Isaac just HAD to have his workspace. There's a glowing screen sitting where the TV once reigned. Its picture is more precise. Its color is more vivid. Isaac final received his travel-size editing suite from the States. His laptop mocks the TV. He now regains his focus, stoops, and pushes the found floppy into the drive and begins editing.

Testing... testing...

Why did I tell you all that? Well, without a picture, you wouldn't have known what's going on. And why is there no picture? Because… silly… it's an all-audio feed.

ROLL IT...

Blackness. Slowly, a crackle of static bleeds through the silence. It gets louder until…

The connection fizzles, then reconnects.

American Radio Personality - … only On The SPOT with Stuart Dweezlemire, and only on 90.7 your sports and talk radio station. We have a special guest this week from all the way on the other side of the planet. Please welcome the man vying for LaW Traditional gold this weekend, Isaac Salinger. Welcome, Isaac.

Isaac Salinger - Thanks for having me.

British Radio Personality - Certainly.

Aussie Radio Personality - It's our pleasure.

American Radio Personality - Anytime, Isaac. Anytime. As some of you may know, Isaac and I have been friend for years. We worked together in 1997 and have been friends every since...

Aussie Radio Personality - Now, he's wrestling in LaW. They have a PPV Friday called Hostile Intent where Mr. Salinger will be face Kai Tano for the Traditional Division Championship...

British Radio Personality - He's join us via telephone for this interview courtesy of front offices of LaW.

Aussie Radio Personality - I suppose the most glaring, obvious question to ask is…

American Radio Personality - How's the life of a professional wrestler in this day and age?

Isaac Salinger - Insightful question as usual, Dweez. It's not a whole lot different now. The gap between the starlets and the never-weres is growing larger, but all in all, most of us, the geberal talent, are enjoying it. The facilities are great. The extent of this particalular world tour has been remarkable. Everywhere we go, it seems the word about LaW is out and the crowd has been there. It's been heavily promoted and marketed. Which explains why I'm here now.

Aussie Radio Personality - Sure does.

Isaac Salinger - But, seriously. It's a big burden. You have to mentally attune your focus on the task ahead. The most strenuous pressure to overcome, especially on a tour so pushed to popularity, is time. Example: What time is it there?

British Radio Personality - It's 5:30 PM.

Isaac Salinger - … What is today's date?

American Radio Personality - Thursday, May 27.

Isaac Salinger - Precisely.

Aussie Radio Personality - What?

Isaac Salinger - It's 7:30 in the morning here. Friday morning. But in Denmark, the site of last HaVok, it's only nearing midnight.

American Radio Personality - What?

Isaac Salinger - It's a very tough reality we face. Time shows us truth.

British Radio Personality - What will your day be like, the day of Hostile Intent?

Isaac Salinger - My morning will be the usual… shit, shave and eat. Oh shit. Is it alright to say shit on the radio?

Aussie Radio Personality - I don't think the monitors are up this late.

American Radio Personality - There's always been one thing about professional wrestlers that has intrigued me… how do you overcome an injury and still perform? It seems like you'd need, at the bare minimum, strong will-power. What other qualities does a professional wrestler possess that allows them to continue on their way.

Isaac Salinger - First and foremost, the medical staff LaW employs is fantastic. At the most recent event, I kinda fell and injured my back…

British Radio Personality - … were dropped on your back…

Aussie Radio Personality - … dropped on you ass and back…

Isaac Salinger - Say a monitor had insomnia…

British Radio Personality - Thank god for the 7-second delay… Isaac, you can't say *censored* or *censored* or *censored*…

Isaac Salinger - I love George Carlin…

British Radio Personality - … but you can say…

From here until the next description slot, the words will be pasted together, by syllable, and editing so that all three reporters say the words. It sounds very automated like a typical computer voice, but carrying accents and twangs from each reporter.

HoLy ShIt… GoOd GoD dAmN… WhAt ThE fUcK… TaNo SuCkS…
CuNnInG lIp… HaIrY hAnDs… WhAt We WoNt Do FoR bUcKs.

It was a rough transition to the next sequence. Isaac, being rusty, was just trying to get some grease on his gears. It had a been a couple years since he produced his own works. He blends the mix into a more linear path.

Isaac Salinger - Well, we are on company time I should probably do some promoting. Friday, May 28th, in New South Wales at Aussie Stadium. I think the gates open a couple hours before the event, and LaW will have autograph booths open for the public for a while. So, come on out and enjoy Live LaW PPV action...

American Radio Personality - What a pitch...

Isaac Salinger - After all the swings I've taken this week, I was bound to hit the ball something...

Aussie Radio Personality - Do you have time for one more segment?

Isaac Salinger - Sure thing.

American Radio Personality - Ladies and gentlemen, when we return from the break, we'll open the phone lines so you can ask your wrestling related question to Isaac Salinger.
