Silverchair The History of Silverchair...
Well, I figured that by now you're wondering who or what is silverchair? Well, they are a
couple of former teenage Aussies that kick some major butt! Before they were famous, their orginal
name was Innocent Criminals, but this is also when there were four members. When the
fourth member split, the band's name was changed to silverchair. How on earth did they
come up with silverchair? Ah, for every simple question there is a simple answer. They
combined their fav Nirvana songs, "Sliver" and "Chair", and came up with a new name! In
1995, silverchair recorded their hit album Frogstomp. This album contained hit songs such as
"Israel's Son" and "Tommorrow." This album was a big success, but like most albums it
dropped the charts. When America got sick of this band, silverchair decided to chill and tour
their home country, Australia. Finally, I guess they craved fame and recorded another hit
album called Freakshow. Freakshow contained awesome songs such as "Freak" and "Abuse
Me". There are three members of the band.
1. Daniel Johns - Vocals, lead guitar, and he's still only 20 years old! Amazing!
2. Chris Joannou - Bass guitar, and one of Danny's best friends!
3. Ben Gillies - Drums, and the humour in the group!
