Daniel Johns is, of course, the most important member of Silverchair. With his "child like" manner on stage and his soothing voice, this young Aussie can leave an impression on almost anyone that hears his hard rock music. Daniel, aka "Johnsy," was born in New Castle, Australia and has lived there ever since. "Johnsy" has always loved music. In fact, he even used to write rap songs before he joined his first band, Innocent Criminals.(Information on Innocent Crimals can be found on the Select a Bio Page under group history.) At the age of 12, Daniel took up guitar. He has been playing ever since, and Daniel Johns is a perfect example of practice makes perfect. He has two sibs: An younger brother- Heath, and a younger sister- Chelsea.
