Women's Issues

The path of a woman in life is long and winding. There are many things that we, as women, have to accomplish, go through, feel, care for. This is a wonderful road for most. But, for those that have stumbling blocks in the way, it can be terrifying and often lonely, as well as dangerous.
I am speaking of abuse. Physical, mental, sexual, anything that is against the very nature of a nurturing, caring and loving realtionship. This abuse can come from anywhere, husband, mother, father, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, friends/acquaintances, the list goes on and on....
I have been the victim of sexual, emotional, and physical abuse, in my lifetime. I am a survivor. I did it alone, with no professional help. But, this is a hard road to take, and I don't recommend it to anyone!! I just did not have the resources at the time most of it occured... and pride refused to let me admit it was happening until much later. That is when I finally took some control in my life and said "NO MORE".

With the help of some very very good friends and my sister, I have survived and started to move on with my life. I have a long long way to go yet, but I know now that I can do it. I don't have to tolerate something just because I feel I deserve it or it is just the way things are.
If you are one of those women out there that are in a dangerous situation... or in any situation, before it gets that far, please go to some of the following links and learn what you can about how to help yourselves. If you can't do it alone... there are others out there just waiting to lend support and a helping hand. Reach out your hand to their's. Take their hand, and move along beside them. They are there for you. They want to put a stop to the violence for women and children. You CAN DO IT!!! I know you have heard the saying "If I can do it, anyone can" over and over again in your lives. But, if you never believe it again in your lifetime... believe it now. For if I can, you can too. Honestly. Truthfully. You can do it!!
