Marilyn Manson has a very wide range of beliefs. In some ways he has created his own religion, he has taken one or two beliefs of a certain religion and applied them to daily life. Certainly, not just one religion can satisfy humans entirely. If there's one thing I (and maybe Marilyn) can agree on with Christianity is "Do unto others as others shall do unto you" and/or "Judge not lest ye be judged". That's about it, even though the christians usually never practice what they supposedly preach. Speaking of christianity, it certainly has inspired many Marilyn Manson songs about hypocrisy, TV talk show america, etc. (to cite a few). Yes, Marilyn Manson is opposed to christianity. Not it's people, but the religion itself. He is opposed to christianity because of its hypocrisy, lies, facist doctrines, and most certainly it's rejection of natural human nature. There is a belief throughout all religions of some sort of apocalypse will occur after millenium. The interpretations of this so called apocalypse vary widely in every religion. In a recent Omega post on the official Marilyn Manson site, he spoke about "The Age Of Horus". In short the Age Of Horus will bring about a new way of life that praises and encourages oneself as his own god in the stars, inteligence, creativity and will free us from the oppression of the Age Of Osirus. Osirus is also another name for Jesus Christ. So maybe to christianity, to them, that will be the end of all time. Through his music Marilyn Manson has inspired many. Whether he inspires you to hate him even more or inspires you to do something creative like write song or something. He is inspiring none-the-less. Of course there are many interpretations of what some of his songs mean or the message behind them. Here are some of them. First and foremost, if there is a message for the fans it is too believe in yourself. You don't have to "follow the crowd" or buy this item because you won't be cool without it because TV says so. People's blind ignoranance and stupidity is definetly pointed out in many songs. Songs such as Get Your Gunn, which is not about guns but is about abortion. The song was inspired by the murder of Dr. David Gunn by anti-abortion activists in Florida. These people were apparently against killing an unborn child but it's perfectly okay for them to kill someone else. Religion was definetly another message in some songs such as Cake And Sodomy which was inspired by television evangelists saying things like "Give us your credit card number and we'll guaruntee you get into heaven". Other songs such as Anti-Christ Superstar and Wormboy also had been inspired by religion. Some songs are auto-biographical such as Kinderfeld. Inteligence is most certainly a message behind many of the songs. I'd explain further but that could take up all the space on this page.
