Last Day In Class

In my highschool, 3 days before graduation there was a great tradigy that touched the lives of many seniors (including my self) and others. There was a school shooting here in my school...a school that is not in a big now like L.A. or NYC. But a small school. This is a poem that a friend of mine wrote that I wanted to put on the site for you to read and see it isn't just the "big" cities that always gets hit with violence and crimes but it can be any town anywhere in the world.
It is the last day in class
and six periods had passed
Everyone was preparing for test,
and life didn't seem to be in a big mess
We were all in a hurry
Little did we know two were in a fury

Yes, it was the last day in class
and six periods had passed
Seventh Period took so long,
and by the end...
Two lives were gone
Their roads had taken a bend
One went down the drain;
the other was left to take the blame

All it took was three shots
to silent a parking lot
It wasn't another town
It was here...
And it was one of our peers
that laid shot on the ground

Last day in class
last class of the day
becuase of their hatred
their lives they have to pay
because of a love gone bad
A town was left...sad

Yes, two lives are gone
Nick is in heaven; and
Jacob is in jail
And without them
school feels like...

Just a few days left until the end,
But it'll take more
for many heart's to mend
I know, a lot are would like to settle the score
But I ask the hatred Die
Don't give anymore reason for us to cry.

Our lives will never be the same;
But we've learned that Death isn't a game

So remember in honor of Jacob and Nick,
Let's don't fight and kick.
Instead tell the ones special to you
how you feel
Cause time on Earth is so few.

God be with us, God be near.
God love us, take away our fears
God Bless us...and God...
Please Bless Our Peers
AMEN.
