1. Gay and Bisexual

Is there a problem with being gay or bisexual? If someone falls in love with someone of the opposite sex, should it be considered a sin? Over the past few days, I've been greeted with signs in the middle of California lawns proclaiming "Protect Marriage: YES ON 22." After some research, I have found exactly what Proposition 22 is. It is against anyone who is gay getting married. Apparently, they've tagged it with a legal deal as well. They don't want gays getting tax deductions. I've even questioned my mother about this, and her response was as follows: "What if me and my best girl friend were to say, 'Let's get married so that we can get a tax deduction' and then we go and get married." I told this to her and I will tell it to you. A heterosexual couple could do the same thing and no one would object to it. And what is the root of this? Predjudice. Religious fanatics who bury their heads in Bibles.

I am well aware of the Biblical opposition to homosexuality. But, can we open our minds for but a moment and consider love. Have you ever been able to choose who you fall in love with? Love has no boundaries; I will stick to that statement until the day I die. My mother also stated, "I think being gay is unhealthy." Okay. If tomorrow I told you I was bisexual, would you consider me sick? I strongly doubt it. Over the past few years, I've met some extraordinary people of whom are not straight. Yet, they are more intriguing, more intelligent, more exciting than a LOT of heterosexual people are. Why? Because they know themselves. They're not like everyone else, and they're not ashamed of it. So, in this "free" country, why do we reprimand people for being themselves? What's even worse to me is those who sit and say being gay is unhealthy when they've never SPOKEN to someone who is gay.

2. Classification

I'm sick of living with a tag on my forehead. I'm either a "punk," a "goth," a "prep," or a "teacher's pet." Yet, I'm not really any of them. If you have a hair color that is bright, you're a punk. If you wear black tights, you're a goth. If you wear a striped sweater, you're a prep. If you speak your opinion in class, you're a teacher's pet. Why this has come to be, I don't know. And then the same people who put me in a box among others "like me" say everyone is an individual. Do we see any... contradiction here?

3. Change

If you've been an XF reg since March, you've watched me change... been with me as my purity test ratings slowly dropped. What I hate about change, is that if you hate what you've become, you can't retrace your steps. I'll never regain my purity, now matter how much I wish on stars and carry lucky charms. I'm not going to be the person who you all originally came to adore. Whether that is good or bad, I'm still trying to decide. I wasn't in good shape in March, but I'm still not in good shape. Some of the problems have evolved and some of them have wafted away and are now a part of that damn chip I have on my shoulder. I guess... that it is time for a quote. In the words of Thomas J., "I am still not a conclusion, unless I decide to die."
