Laugh again
When I fell the first time i still could
when the stares came, and they still do
But I felt no eyes on my back
There was no weight to my name
Not then
I laughed and went on, and the rumors did too
But even blind eyes stay open
And once in awhile-- A sight! so strong
Keeps your faith in the fire too long
Laugh again
But I lost that laugh
somewhere under the glares, in the din of whispers
Drowning out any laughter I had left
but the surface found me
and I laughed to myself
and I realized they weren’t worth dying over
their trophies, their pride, their vanities and malice
are left in the halls to be swept up in
all that comes after..what they called me means nothing
What I call me is Everything.
