Pull Back the Blanket
(written by Gail Batton - 5/8/94 - Sun - 2 p.m.)
Rain - rain - all night it rains
Clouds so dark - no clearing - only blackness
Morning comes - I still cannot see
The Light is hidden - only dark clouds are there
No joy - no hope - no smile
Strife - sorrow - solitude - fear
Slowly - the edge of the clouds moves back
Blue - rich - vibrant blue
One small strip of blue
Hope - the Word has touched my heart - my life
Wider - wider - the blanket of clouds
Pulled back to show the Light
Seems God has uncovered the bright new day
That satan tried to hide - robbing all joy
Clouds again move in
The Light again is hidden
But, remembering the one time - I wait
For I know that God is there
And behind the clouds my life is joy
I just have to trust and wait on God
To pull back the blanket that covers my eyes
So I cannot see the beauty of the Day.
