LET ME SEE THROUGH YOUR EYES

Friend who passes by me every day
Watching my life unfold
A petal - a day at a time
I am within the rose of me
I cannot see just who God is making me to be
I see where He has brought me from
The dirt so dark - so cold - so ugly
I see the thistles and briars
He's pulled me through
I see how far the sky is above
How far, yet, I've got to grow, to yet unfold
I see other flowers about me
So brightly colored - each unique
I see their lives unfold before me
I feel my petals opening slowly
As old ways are loosened and rid
As a new creature I have become
Friend who passes by me every day
I cannot see whom I have become
Please, let me see me through your eyes
Let them be eyes of love.
