Envy Group Bio
Crystal and Cheryl Long moved to Franklin Limestone Court in September of 1986, just three months after their dad died in a car accident. They moved with their mom and her Aunt Edith. Their house just happened to be next door to the home of Ann and Alan Yearwood, Jessica Savage's grandparents with whom she lived. Thus, the beginning of a beautiful friendship and a lot of beautiful music. Crystal and Cheryl had gotten into music at early ages, mainly due to the fact that their mother had worked at a supper club in Printer's Alley and which both girls visited frequently. Of course, they went there for the chance to perform. Jessica soon got in on the Captain's Table action. Besides the tri-yearly performances of the girls in the Alley, they performed daily in their front yards and in front of their Karaoke machines. There were weekly talent contests. Each of the three girls says they won the most, but no one really is sure. Some time back the three girls decided that when they all graduated, they would move to L.A. to become "stars". What kind of stars? "We didn't care" says Crystal. "We just wanted to be famous, I wanted to be one of the Judds." Well, Crystal has graduated, but not Jessica and Cheryl. As far as the move out west the girls say no one knows what may happen by the time Cheryl graduates in 2002. "We are taking one day at a time", says Cheryl. "But we will be stars", adds Jessica. As far as Crystal is concerned "that is a sure thing, my life will not be worthwhile if I can't live it the way I want to". Well, they are headed in the right direction. As the girls continue to sing and write in Nashville, they are continuing to make good connections within the national and international music industries. "If we don't find someone we trust to represent us, we will represent ourselves" is what the girls say. Crystal is more of the business type. She is a Music Business major in college. She says, "One day we will get there". So everyone WATCH OUT FOR ENVY because they're coming your way!!!!
