WHAT THE HECK IS A MONDEGREEN?
A mondegreen is a misunderstood song lyric.

OK people...admit it...you didn't always know EXACTLY what Jakob was saying, now did you? So, here's your chance to come clean and share your Wallflowers mondegreens with the world. Don't be shy! Jessie & I have already posted some of our mondegreens here so you won't feel so dumb about yours.

Explanation: "I thought it meant he had a job and he had to load crates of wine on a truck or something; it really did make sense at the time...to me anyways. I found out the real lyrics on the computer, I felt pretty stupid...all that time I'd been singing it wrong in the shower!!

Explanation: "I thought he was talking about some kind of attack of troops, like a massacre."

What I THOUGHT the lyric was: "...won't you help me with these CATS of mine..."
What the lyric REALLY is: "...won't you help me with these cuts of mine..."
Explanation: "I don't know...cats are hard to deal with. It seemed to go with the flow of the song...love...cats...'Josephine.' How did I find out I was wrong? Well, I was singing along (out of tune might I add) and a fellow Wallflowers fan overheard. After she had stopped laughing she pointed out the mistake.

Explanation: "I'm pretty dunb Huh? I must have pretty bad ears to have thought that was what Jakob was saying."

Explanation: "There really is none; I just had no clue as to what the word was, so I made up my own as a substitute, although I knew it made absolutely no sense at all!"

What the lyric REALLY is: "...with the long broken arm of human law."
Explanation: "Since "One Headlight" talks about death and a cemetary, I guess I put 2 and 2 together and thought LAWN, like forest lawns (the cemetary or something)...don't ask! Hmm, I always have had a tendency to distort lyrics though..."

Explanation: "I really wasnt sure what it meant but since he had a song called "One Headlight", I figured I was right." My sister told me what it was, so then I made sure by looking on a lyrics page."
