Emu oil is a product rendered from the fat found on the bird's back. The Australian
Aborigines used the fat and oil to soothe arthritis pain, relieve sunburn, rheumatism,
and joint stiffness. Emu oil was first commercially released to the world in 1990.
Proof of the effectiveness of the oil can be seen from its use by professional
sports teams. As of January 1995, 90% of NBA teams were using emu oil in their locker
rooms, as well as 40% of NFL teams.
