Chapter 9

"So, what do you want to do first, Emily?" asked Chealse as they stepped through the mall's main entrance.

"Well, what do we want to do?"

Taylor was a little uncomfortable at this point, being he didn't have anything to say, and now that the thought about it, he had just met this girl. "Why don't you get your nails done while I make lunch arrangements."

" Arrangements, jeez Tay, loosen up a bit!" Emily saidjokingly.

Taylor just smiled following the girls until they got safely to a nice looking nail place. Then he waved to Emily and was off in the hunt of a good place for lunch. " What does she expect, a burger or steak" Taylor wondered as he walked through the mall.

"Hi, Tay," came a voice from behind him. He didn't even have to look to know who it was.

"Go away ,Summer," Taylor snapped, " I can't see you anymore."

"Why not, Sugar?" Summer asked slipping her hand into Tay's. Taylor whipped around to face the girl, shoving her hand away.

"Because. Remember the girl you saw me with like 2 days ago, the one who's yard you just walked into and stared at us. She's a lot better than you, I'll tell you that!" Taylor said to the dippy little blonde, the girl who his girlfriend now hates.

"Better than me? Taylor Hanson, don't tell me you are actually going out with that stuck-up..."

"Summer, how long ago was our relationship?" Taylor asked getting really mad.

"To long ago, Tay."

"My point is, Summer, it's over, and it has been for 3 years." Taylor turned and walked away. " I'm not going to let her get to me," Tay thought.

He walked into a local restaurant that had been given rave reviews for it's food and made reservations for 3, set for 2 hours later.

He made it back to the nail place without any disruptions, just as Emily was finishing up. He told Chealse of the dinner plans, and that she and Emily might want to do some shopping.

Emily showed her newly manicured nails to Taylor as Chi-Chi paid. "Nice, Emms," he said in approval, "would you like to do some shoppingnow?"

"Shopping? Anytime!" Emily beamed.

" Cheasle had overheard. "Go ahead, and have fun! I'll meet you guys for dinner in 1 and a half hours. With that Emily took Taylor by the hand and they walked out of the nail solon.

"Where first?" Taylor asked. He usually hated shopping, unless it was for himself, but then he was with Emily, he didn't mind.

"The Gap," she answered simply.

The time to meet Chealse came much sooner the either Emily or Taylor had imagined. Yet, Emms had managed to buy 2 outfits, a sundress, and a swimsuit, while Tay got different sizes and things he wanted Emily to try on. Some where rather skimpy, like in one occasion, Emily asked Taylor to, "Find something with more material than a necktie."

Chealse, Emms , and Taylor all met for dinner and truly enjoyed it. Even down to the last crumb of desert, which had been Caramel Pie. After dinner, they shopped some more, even Tay got a few shirts andstuff.

It was close to 5 in the afternoon when they got home. With shopping bags in hand, they got out of the limo, thanked to driver, and went up to the door. Taylor opened it, " Mom, what are you doinghere?"
