Yesterday was Emily's birthday; Zac and Ike had decided to throw their money together to get something from the both of them. Now, they are at a store at the mall trying to decide on a gift.
"Ike, you should be good at this, you've been bying presents almost four more years then I have!"
"Not for girls!"
"Well, sorry. I just thought that you would have better ideas." Zac was getting fustrated that he couldn't find anything for Emily. Suddenly he had an idea.
"Hey Ike! What about a gift certificate, and a bag of candy!"
"Okay! I'm ready to get something picked out already. First one to the customer service counter wins." And off they ran all the way to the other end of the mall, knocking into 2 little kids, 1 old lady, and a police officer. Oops! They tied their little race, but Ike let Zac think that he won.
Ike turned to the lady at the counter. "I need a 30 dollar gift certificate."
"Okay, would this be for the whole mall or one store?"
"The whole mall."
"Sign here please." She handed Ike a reciept. He signed it and handed it back.
"Thank you and come again."
"Sure will, on my birthday." Zac said.T
Next they headed to a candy store called 'Mr. Bulkey's'.
What kind of sugary stuff does she like?"
"I don't know, just a bit of everything."
"I can do that!" Zac got a bag and started to fill it with M&M's, Jelly Beans, and Tootsie Rolls.
"Zac, I think that is enough. We don't want to give her too much, for Tay's sake." **an: Ike was talking about figures.**
At 12 noon, Ike and Zac had finished their shopping adventure, and had just walked into the house when the phone rang. Ike answered it.
"Ike I need a favor." Chi-Chi was on the other end.
"Darn, I think I'm free. What do you need?"
"I need a ride to the mall to get Emm's a present. I totally forgot. I told her I still had to get wrapping paper. I would drive myself but ....." she stopped, bacause she realized Ike knew the rest.
"I don't know how many time I've said I'm sorry!" Ike said.
"I know, but I still can't drive from it, and I need to get Emms a gift. Please, Ikey."
"Well, okay, can I pick you up in say ..... um ..... 15 minutes?"
"That's fine, see you then. Bye!"
"Bye, Chi-Chi."
Ike pulled up into the driveway right on time, just as Chealse was wallking out.
"Good afternoon, Ike." says Chi-Chi.
"Yeha, it's real nice." Ike answers sarcastically.
"Whatever, let's go. By the way, you could be sarcastic." now Chi-Chi's voice was dripping with sarcasism. There was five minutes of silence Ike said," Which store do you want to go to first?"
"Mickey D.'s! It's time for lunch!" When they pulled into the great big parking lot, parked and walked into the mall, and headed to the food court.
After a nice and greasy lunch, they started out to look for the b-day present.
"What are you looking for?" asked Ike.
"Well, I think I want to get her some alien stuff, or I'll take her out for ice cream, a makeover, and a nail job."
"I like the Ice cream thing."
"Yeah, I do, too."
"Then, what are we doing here, then?"
"Well, Ike, now that we are here, do you wanna do something? When I take Emily out, I'll get a ride from my granny, but she was at the store now." Chi-Chi rambled.
"Okay, movie or shopping, you pick."
"How about both?"
"Movie first?" Ike suggested.
"X-Files!" Chi-Chi loves X-Files so there was no question on what movie to see.
"Sounds good to me! Let's go get our tickets then how about some popcorn?"
"Cool, with extra butter?"
"Of course." How could Ike not give her everything she wanted?
"I love being around you, you know." says Chi-Chi, very matter-of-factly.
"Ditto." Ike walked up to the counter, and bought: 2 tickets, 1 large popcorn (extra buuter), 1 large coke with 2 straws, and a bag of M&M's.
"Let's go." And they walked into a theater room that was completly empty.
After the movie, they headed off into the mall to shop. The first store they stopped at was Journey's.
"May I help you miss?" asked the store clerk.
"yes, could I try these on?" I need a size 5 UK, I think." Chi-Chi said, holding up a pair of Doc's.
"Sure, I'll be right back."
"Those are like mine! Kewl beans!" Ike said beaming.
"Well, is it okay for us to match?"
"Certainly." Ike said, proud of his g/f's taste.
After 2 hours of shopping Chi-Chi had bought the docs, a skirt, and tee shirt. At the present she was trying on a tight fitting party dress.
"What do you think, Ike?"
"That looks good on you! Ike steps back for a better look.
"I think I'll buy this and then I'll stop. Otherwise I won't have any money for Emily." She stepped back into the dressing room to change.
When she stepped out, Ike was waiting for her by the counter.
"Let's go."
"But, I've got to pay first."
"No, I payed for it.
"Ike!"
"Well, I couldn't resist. It looked really good. And ..... um ..... now you need to wear it somewhere, so would you like to come with me to dinner Friday night?"
"Ike, I'd love to!"
"Thought so! Let's go."
Ike dropped Chealse off at her house, before heading home, even though they only lived a block or two apart.
"I'll call later, okay?" Ike asked.
"Sure, after 6 though. I might still be at the mall with Emms before that." Chealse walked into hher house, and was greeted by her grandma.
"Hello, Chealse, would you do me a favor, dear? Would you ask Megan to help in the kitchen. I'm baking Emily's cake."
"All right, I have to go upstairs anyway." With that Chi-Chi wobbled up the stairs and yelled at Meg through her bedroom door.
"Megan!"
"What?"
"Grandma needs you in the kitchen!"
"Okay!"
Now after that little job was done, she walked to Emily's room and opened the door (she didn't even knock!). There was Emily sitting on her bed with Taylor next her her. They where watching tv.
"Excuse me." They didn't even hear her so she went and sat down on the bed. Just as Chi-Chi sat down, Tay jumped up, "Ahhh! Oh, it's just you."
"Just me? Oh thanks Tay, I feel so loved." Chi-Chi was trying very hardto be serious.
"Hi, Chealse," said Emily as she turns around to face her sister,"how can I help you?" She was a bit mad that her sister had interrupted them.
"Well, as you probably realize, I haven't given you your birthday present yet, so I was going to ask if you would like to come with me and I'll get you it." Emily was already up and walking to her close, not mad anymore.
"Tay, pick one," she said holding up two different outfits. There was a short sundress with sunflowers on it and a spagetti strap dress that was blue with a black and white stripe across the chest.
"Um . . . where are you going?" he asked Chi-Chi.
"The mall." answered simply.
"The spagetti dress, then, Emms." Tay smiled to himself.
"Emily, would you like to take one person with you?" Chi-Chi knew she was going to pick Taylor if she was given a choice.
"Tay, can you come?" Emily said imedetly.
"Let me call my mom and ask." with that he walked out of Emily's room into the hall to use the phone, partly because he relized that Emms needed to change. He picked up the reciever and dialed the number.
"Mom, hi. It's Tay."
"Hello, Tay, what's up?"
"Could I go to the mall with Emms and Chi-Chi? We'll be gone late, I think, and we're going to call a cab."
"Sure, you can go. I just got an idea. You remember Mr. Smith? The lime guy. Anyway he called last week tot ell me that he was going to give us a free ride. Why don't you use that offer, insted of a cab?"
"Yeesss! Great idea, mom!" Tay yelled into the phone, so loud that Chi-Chi stepped out of Emily's room, where she had been doing Emms' hair, to make sure he was ok.
"Tay, I'll call Mr. Smith and he should pick you up in about 15 min. Love you, bye."
"Bye." Tay walked back to Emms' door and knocked.
"Come in." came Emily's voice. Tay stepped in, just to see Emily stand up with her hair done and the dress on.
"Would you like a limo, m' lady, instead of a cab?" Tay said, smiling, in an English accent.
