Area Editor

The first part of making an area is specifying some information for the general area.



Below is basically what you will see for a general area.

<100hp 100m 100mv> {your prompt}

      Hit enter at the prompt will give something like this:

Name: [ 21] Gnome Village
File: gnome.are
Vnums: [1500-1599]
Age: [0]
Players: [1]
Security: [1]
MinLevel: [5]
Builders: [Vougon]
Credits : [[ 5 20] Vougon Gnome Village]
Flags: [none]

The following will take you step by step on how to edit an area.

Step 1)      aedit create

    This will create the area and send you into the area editor. Do this only once     per area.

Step 2)    name

    Enter the name you wish for your area to be called.

Step 3)    filename

    Enter the name you with the mud to identify your area by.

Step 4)    vnum

    Set the vnums for the area. Arathorne will assign these to you as you need them.

Step 5)    age

    Pretty much useless. Just enter a zero.

Step 6)    security <1-9>

    All builders start off at security 1. As your trust and production increases, so
    will your security. Some areas require certian security levels in order to edit them.

Step 7)    minlevel

    Lets a player consider an area before he/she enters it.

Step 8)    builder

    Let everyone know who built this area.

Step 9)    credits <[level range]>

    This is what shows up on the 'area' list.

Note: Players only shows the amount of players are in your area at that time.
Flags only shows if your area has been changed or added to since the last save.



     Head back to the OLC help menu.         Go back to the Pavilion
