John W. Battle
John W. Battle was born on January 31, 1869 in Gibson Co.,Tennessee.John is the son of Henry Battle and Eleanor(Eley)Moore. He married Mary Elizabeth(Mollie)Evans (daughter of Nathan Evans and Rebecca ?, and also the sister of Martha(Mattie)Evans)
on December 23, 1888 in Gibson Co., Tennessee. Mollie was born on May 31, 1870. They had four children: Annie B. Battle, Ernest Victor Battle, Clyde Elder Battle, and Ella Mai Battle.
- Annie B. Battle was born on March 9, 1894 in Gibson Co.,TN, she died March 13, 1975 in Gibson Co.,TN. Annie married twice, 1. Wade Jewell on October 27, 1913. Annie and Wade had one child:
Keuble J. Jewell. Annie married 2. Broda M. Flowers on November 3, 1917. Annie and Broda had two children: Jeanette Flowers and Rebecca Flowers.
- Ernest Victor Battle was born on August 16, 1892 in Gibson Co.,TN. At the age of 25, he enlisted in WWI, he was wounded during the war. Ernest married Ruby l. Shanklin on December 19, 1919 in Gibson Co., TN. They
had one child: Monette Battle.
- Clyde Elder Battle was born on October 5, 1896 in Gibson Co.,TN, he died on July 4, 1961. Clyde married twice, 1. Opal Garrett married about 1920. Clyde and Opal had two children: Blondale Battle and Carolyn Battle.
Clyde married 2. Ollie Mae Woods about 1948 in TN. Clyde and Ollie had two children: Jimmy Dale Battle and Clyde Micheal(Mike)Battle.
- Ella Mai Battle was born August 22, 1905 in Gibson Co.,TN. She married Roy Johnson on November 19, 1922 in Gibson Co.,TN. Ella Mai and Roy had one child: Marie Elizabeth Johnson.
