Bio: Jacquell Bene' Lawson is a funny and exciting person to be around. She graduated with Honors from Famu High School in 2002, finishing fourth among the top ten in her entire class. At Famu she served as the Director of Student Development for the Student Government Association, played the clarinet for 6 years and marched in the band for 3 years, she briefly played on the girls basketball team and she also was a member of the performing chorus.
On August 3, 2007 Jacquell received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Broadcast Journalism from Florida A&M University. Having been blessed with many talents,
Jacquell is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., a member of the St. Mary's Choir and the St. Mary Praise Dance Team Music Consultant. Jacquell started preaching at the age of sixteen. When she preached her first sermon her uncle (who was in his late thirties) gave his life to Christ. Jacquell says that this was conformation that she was called to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. Since then Jacquell has preached at several churches in Tallahassee and around Florida. She has ministered in Lake City, Havana, Sawdust, and has even traveled to Atlanta,Georgia to speak at the National Black Crime Prevention Conference. At the conference she was among Bishop Eddie Long, Hank Aaron, Judge Greg Mathis and many others. Jacquell is not like most preachers, she is only 23 years old, and she is a dynamic young woman of God. Not only can she make you shout, cry and give God praise, she can also make you laugh. When asked how she describes herself she said "I am crazy. I like to have fun and I like to make people laugh, the only time I am ever really serious is when I am ministering. I'm serious sometimes in church and in the classroom, other than that, I laugh, play and make jokes all day long. I really enjoy making other people laugh though.
I have plenty of time to be an adult, right now I am just trying to focus on staying a kid for as long as I can. The bible says a merry heart does good like a medicine. I am fully medicated (she laughs)." Jacquell's meekness and kind spirit have given her the opportunity to befriend such gospel celebrities as Vickie Winans, RiZen, Dorothy Norwood, Beverly Crawford, and Carolyn Traylor just to name a few. Jacquell is a giving and kind hearted person and realizes that God has blessed her richly and she doesn't hesitate to give what God has blessed her with back to others. Jacquell is the founder of World Shaker Ministries INC. and not only a preacher, but a gospel comedian that will have you falling out of your seat with laughter.
Adding to her long list of accomplishments, on November 2, 2006 Jacquell graced the airwaves as "The Apostle" on WANM 90.5. She now has the highest rated gospel show on 90.5 and on Thursday mornings her ratings are higher than the Tom Joyner Morning Show!!!!
Currently Jacquell is the Program Director at WTAL 1450 AM and the Gospel Music Director at WANM 90.5 in Tallahassee, Florida. To further her education she is now attending Covenant Bible College and Seminary.
Jacquell's Interests Include: Shopping, Ministy, Making people laugh and Spending time with family and friends.
