So the Instructor rating has been done for awhile, I had my check ride on the 11th of May...which I passed! Have been teaching at a local flying school since March and love every minute of it. It's nice to be on the other side of the coin and watch students grappel with the same topics I had trouble with. The motorcycle is running well these days! I do have an opportunity in Windsor, we'll se how this plays out.

Instructor Rating

So here it is end of September and I thought I'd have lots of flying under my belt since I started my instructor rating first week of September.
Not the case!! I realize how little I know about teaching and how much I've forgotton about flight dynamics and theory :(
My instructor is a crotchity old bastard who doesn't cut me or anyone else an inch of slack. But at least he does correct all my mistakes with pertinent examples ie: "Your Gonna Kill Me Ya Fucker!!" Always a joy, classroom times are a real treat as well. Not much else is new, I really hate this time of year, weather sucks, traffic sucks, etc.

My new Job
Mood:  not sure
So I started my first manufactoring job a few days ago. I'm woring in an assembly plant for a company that produces electronic whiteboards. I get to leave my brain at the door :) I get to screw plastic borders onto the boards. Other then a few other small tasks that's it. On my feet for 7.5 hours witha cordless drill in my hands. OMG!! Well it will help pay the bills and provide money for flying!!!

Mororcycle Madness

Finally after 20 days in the shop...WTF!! I get my motorcycle back. Thinking I'd get hit by a huge repair bill, I ended up paying $80.23. Don't ever do business with KANATA POWER SPORTS, 301 MOODIE Dr. Ottawa. Far to many excuses, I don't knows, poor communication witin the service departments, etc. etc. But on a happier note my bike is on the road and I'm having a blast!

When it rains it pours. I have received 2 job offers in the last 24 hours. One requires me to spend 5300.00 to qualify with no guarantees, the other is 10.00 bucks an hour and will help pay the bills. The latter job will excel my career as commercial pilot quickly and gain me the experience and time that I so desperately need. Sorry folks just ranting! ARRRRGGG

Flying High Again
Mood:  energetic
So I took C-GCOH a Cessna 172 out for a flight today.
Took a tour along the Gatineau river, got fairly low, always a buzz! Did a few steep turns and practiced a precautionary landing, which was a bit tight but managed to make my selected field. Tried putting full rudder just to se what would happen...what fun :) Flying always puts me into a better mood!

So I bought a 1982 Yamaha 750 a few days ago.
Took a bus to Toronto to pick it up. Drove said bike back to Ottawa. Had a nervous trip out of Toronto, been awhile since I drove a bike so I was a little nervous. Now the bike is sitting in a local shop and looks like I got me a lemon. Not sure how I went from a rideable bike to a piece of scrap?! Looks like the previous owner forgot to mention a repair done on the cylinder head was fucked up! So I'm stuck with a bike that won't pass a safety and a huge repair bill in order to get it back on the road. Not very impressed at this moment. But I'm going flying tomorrow so I'm hoping that will put my spirit back into the positive.

Never had a blog before but must keep up with the times. I'm hoping to share my dull existance with all who pass by. I recently acquired my commercial pilot's license a few weeks ago!! After 2.5 years of trials, travels and travails I'm hoping to land (puny) my first pilot job. WISH ME LUCK
