When does this take place?
Approximately 35 years after Return of the Jedi (38 years after A New Hope). This places it about five years after the Expanded Universe's New Jedi Order series.
What is the Expanded Universe?
The Expanded Universe (or EU for short) is a collection of fictional background material from the Star Wars universe that is derived from official novels, comic books, and various other media besides the movies themselves. The Expanded Universe is considered canonical by Lucasfilm Ltd., though subordinate to the movie canon; however, there are many fans of the movie series who do not agree. - Expanded Universe Entry on Star Wars Wiki City
I haven't read NJO... is it important?
No! While we are working within the canon developed during the series, we are also expanding on it. From that end, our Canon God has developed a list of "continuity points" that you can use as reference. We also have a list of Force related information here.
What kind of Force abilities are allowed?
There's a table of allowed abilities here, but use your imagination for the most part.
However, you also have to keep in mind your character's limitations. A more mentally inclined Jedi may not be as skilled at more physical powers and vice versa.
I want to join. How do I create a character?
You do? Great! First, you're going to need to fill out a character template. Then, once your application is received, you will be notified within a few days of whether you will be allowed to join or not. If you haven't done so, you have to register with Delphi Forums in order to fully participate.
Why do you want a writing sample?
Because we like to see both your grammar and spelling abilities. We also like to check your style as a writer. You may have perfect spelling and grammar, but if you show any signs of godmoding, your application will be denied.
What is "godmoding"?
It stems from a video game cheat whereby the character is invincible. If your character manages to defeat a dozen Sith, without a mark to show for it or even breaking a sweat, that's godmoding.
Also, if your character manages to get a hold of any of the Superweapons and uses them, then you're godmoding.
I want to play a Skywalker, Solo, Fett, etc. Why can't I?
At this juncture of the storyline, there simply isn't room for them. If the need for a canon character arises, they will be played soley by the Mods in order to keep them within the canon, and in order to prevent godmoding (See above).
