Ewoks are small furry bipeds who lived on the forest moon of Endor. They led primitive lives, living in crude tree houses and hunting with sharp rocks and such tied to sticks.They helped the Rebels to bring down the shield generator covering the second Death Star that was under construction there, allowing the rebels to fly into the superstructure and destroy it. But with this destruction came the Ewoks downfall.

The superstructure of the Death Star stretched over 500 miles wide and most of it, weather in large or small pieces rained down onto the moon. On the Surface not only would these pieces have fallen but also the smoke, dust, and smaller particles from the pieces created a nuclear winter effect, which was sustained on the whole surface of the moon. The survivors are those who had traveled off world with traders, those captured for medical study and alteration, and those that the rebels were able to rescue and relocate amid the desolation.
