-Walk to School A walk outside On a Febuary morn Wind blowing open The small jacket Frozen fangs Nibbling At hidden ears Tipped with ice Beneath the Long, warm waterfall Hands reach deep In shallow pockets Holding closed The gray cover Toes in their many blankets Unfelt in their illusion of warmth Not feeling the rock hard traction Nor the silent steps Across the lot Eyes searching though fog Made by the too close mouth Bouncing along in step With the unfeeling march Nose sniffing at nothing Catching a scent and Losing it in the Harsh smell of winter Teeth chattering a fast beat Though the earthquake That comes and goes In strength But never fades The pace is Mesmerizing to the Slow thoughts Blazing through the mind That only wants to rest And sleep
