Time is a funny funny thing
It does not go and then it springs
It does not move and then it leaps
So suddenly you can never reach

For the young time passes slowly
For the old it passes fast
To everyone it passes
Finally, at last
They wished they had not wished so hard
For time to have passed so fast
For they find out what they have
Is no better than the last

For some time is a blessing
For others it’s a curse
But time waits for no one
And no one is the worse
