As I watch the spinning wheel
I feel so sad
I know it’s real
And as I watch the spinning wheel
I get transported
That’s what I feel
To times so distant
Yet so near
I cannot help
But shed a tear
For sadness
For the lives long gone
For lives not born
Yet still all wrong
The tears run down
A furrowed creek
That has been made
Down my cheek
From crying for the
Ones still lost
I never thought
About the cost
Of lives all lost
And never found
The spinning wheel
Goes round and round
And tears still fall
And lives are lost
And the wheel
Still spinning
Spinning past
