Pink Lightning As she walked alone along the seashore, the reflection of the full moon on the water pointed straight to her. The muddy soil squished under her sandals as she tiptoed around the weeds and broken bottles. With the water on her right hand and the school on her left, she stood staring up at the stars. Before her, the cars sped along the freeway and lit the road with their lights. Suddenly, a bolt of pink lightning reached from invisible clouds and struck the road. The clouds lit in fuchsia fire as pink lightning leapt from cloud to cloud, turning the dark and invisible to the bright and glowing. She stood there for half an hour watching the clouds light from within, wondering what could make lightning pink. Finally, the lightning came further and further apart and her legs began to ache. After one last glance at the stars, she hiked back up the incline and returned to the light.
