Ruthie came into the Real World as the only Hawaiian born native of the state. She came with a bang; on the VERY FIRST day, not even half an hour into the show, she decided to swim in the pool naked with a fellow cast member, Teck, and giving this season's nickname the "Naked Season". The night after the cast had just settled in the house, Ruthie goes partying and drinks WAY too much, causing her to get alcohol poisoning, start seizing, and hurriedly get rushed to the emergency room. MTV thought this was not a good idea, to put this big of an alcoholic in the house for safety reasons for the other cast members. They decided to take Ruthie off the show temporarily to go to rehab and get some counseling. When MTV agreed to later let her back on the show, she became 'less wild', but also came with the backfire of being excluded from the group. They didnt even let poor Ruthie go to India...
