Lord of the Rings is a movie which follows the nine fellowships, who all join for one reason- to destroy the ONE ring. All the characters play significant roles in the movie, and the actors who play the characters are exceptionally good.

Name: Aragorn Elessar.

Aliases: Elfstone, Strider, Longshanks, Wingfoot, Elessar, Thorongil, Estel, Telcontar, Dúnadan, the Renewer, Isildur's Heir, Hope.

One of the main chracters in The Lord of the Rings, Aragorn takes command of th fellowship once Gandalf is thought to be dead. It is here Aragorn shows his true leadership.

Name: Gandalf the Grey/Gandalf the White

As one of the most powerful wizards in all the land, Gandalf the Grey certainly has his share of enemies. But his wisdom, his sense of humor,
his humanity all endear him to his friends.

Name: Frodo Baggins

Frodo Baggins cousin of Bilbo Baggins, is the ring bearer, A hobbit from the Shire, the peaceful land of
the halflings, Frodo is the centrepiece of the
Fellowship of the Ring.

Name : Legolas

As the son of Sindar Elf King Thranduil, Legolas
(which means "Greenleaf") is an Elven Prince.His keen eyes and deadly bow are both of great value to his companions. Plays a major part in the Two Towers along side Aragorn and Gimli.

Name: Gimil

Like all dwarves, Gimli is stubborn and tough, proud and indomitable, and a mightywarrior. Beneath his cantankerous demeanor there is a loyal and noble heart. Who likes to use his axe as much as possible.

Name: Samwise Gamjee

A simple gardener from the Shire who knows his limits, Samwise is devoted to helping his friend Frodo in any way he can. Samwise along with Frodo set off to Mordor in their quest to destroy the ring.

Name Merry

Also a hobbit from the Shire, Merry is quite the mischievious, lively, and audacious lad. Can be seen as more of a liability than asset to the Fellowship, but does come good when it matters

 Name: Pippin

Good friend of Merry, the youngest of the hobbit and who gets captured when trying to help frodo escape from the oncoming Orcs. Plays a crucial part in the Two Towers in help defeating Saruman

Name: Boromir

The son of Denethor II, ruling Steward of Gondor, Boromir awaits the day he will rule Minas Tirith, chief city of the world. His valiance in battle is almost unmatched. However in saving the little Hobbits Boromir loses his life, a chracter who was looked upon as the most likely to let the fellowship with his ego dies in a heroic style.

Other Characters

The Characters below all play important parts in the Fellowship of the Ring and the Two Towers. How big a part they all play in The Return of the King will be something to watch out for. All I can say is the Final saga to the Lord of the Rings is promising to be a spectacular finish.

Name: Arwen

The Gorgeous elf is the daughter of Elrond, granddaughter of Galadriel, and the lastborn of her people. And yet her love for Aragorn is
greater than her love for immortality. In seen in the Two Towers as flash backs, however she does play an important part in Aragorn returning  as the King (oops have i given it away)

Name: Elrond

This Lord of Rivendell is a legendary healer and the guardian of a vast store of Elven lore. Does not approve of all Aragorn and Arwen love for each other. Only sees pain for his beloved daughter.

Name Saruman

A wizard more powerful than Gandalf the Grey, believes Sauron is the Lord and everyone should bow down to him. Very good friends with Gandalf until his true colour are shown

Name: Eomer

The heir to the Kingship of Rohan and brother of Eowyn is a tall, stern man. Nephew of King Theoden. Eomer is one of Rohan mighty warriors. Very noble and headstrong

Name: King Theoden

Once a courage leader and accomplished soldier, but due to his servant Grima Wormtongue, fallen wizzard Saruman was able to poison the kings mind.

Name Galadriel

This Elven Queen is no mere fey being, but a lady of great power. Along with her husband, Celeborn, she lives in the woodland realm of Lothlorien, a safe haven for those elves who have chosen to remain in Middle-earth.

Name: Eowyn

Lady Eowyn of Rohan is one of the key female characters featured in Two Towers, Beautiful and strong-willed. She is the niece of  King Theoden

    Name: Grima Wormtongue

    Devious servant of the wizard Saruman. Grima is introduced in the Two Towers . Desires th hand of Lady Eowyn to take as his own. But she sees through his poisonous words and spurns him.

 Name: Gollum/Smegol/Degol

Once a hobbit like creature, Gollum murdered his best friend to obtain the Ring. After it was taken away from him by Bilbo, he journeyed far and wide to find his precious again. This has led him to become involved in the fates of good and evil, both of which he himself is. Gollum is introduced in the Two Towers and plays an important role is The Return of the King.

Name: Faramir

The Young captain of Gondor and brother of Boramir is introdued in the Two towers. Had a close relationship with his late brother, but is seen by his father Denethor-who will be introduced in The Return of the King, as a useless individual who has no qualities to bring to Gondor.

Name Bilbo Baggins

Is seen the Fellowhsip of the Ring, cousin of Frodo Baggins, Bilbo discovers the ring in the famous book called The Hobbit. No doubt when P.Jackson does the Hobbit he will star Bilbo some where in the film. The ring has helped Bilbo stop aging however once the ring is out of his hand his age begins to catch up with Bilbo.

Name Denethor

Father of Boramjr and Faramir and steward of Gondor. Believes the rig can bring peace to Middle Earth. Will be introduced formally in The Return of the King
