In today’s high-tech society people desire more and more. The Multi-User Dungeons (MUD) has created the infinity fantasy environment for these greater need and wants. In order to explain the theme, a simple animation has been created to link the topic and the steps of the animation as well as being explained in the further section of the essay.

In the early 1970s, face-to-face role-playing games such as Dungeons and Dragons swept the game industry. This created a metaphor for physical spaces regarded as Multi-User Dungeons or MUDs a new form of virtual society reality that allows users to share and collaborate. In MUDs games, the users are authors. When a MUD is first entered, the user may realize them in a medieval castle and have the control of the army of the town. In the MUDs world, the use gets the chance to express multiple and often unexplored aspects of the self, to play with the different identities. At today’s demanding society, people have little activity to express the stress thus there is this example, a 21-year-old college senior defends for his violent characteristic as “something in me; but quite truthfully I’d rather rape on MUDs where no harm is done? The issue is that people tend to position the pressures with its own fantasy in MUDs. There is no limitation for the MUDs, the characteristic can be completely opposite from the real world, as the “toy situation?suggested by psychologist Erik Erikson, that allows us to “reveal and commit?ourselves in its unreality. On the MUD one actually gets the chance to build character and environment and then to live within the toy situation. Hence in the reality the one might be living within a small compass but in the MUD, one lives with a character as a popular superstar surrounded by the crowd that one has created. However the MUD is unlimited, the only limitation would be the user’s imagination.

According to the first background, I simply used the paint which is easy to find at any computers?accessories. I basically fill with color with the sky blue and performed the airbrush tool to create the white clouds. Working through the second and third parts of the project I have decided to create a fiction-like image as the project’s background. The original image was a scan of Mt. Coot-Tha that was photographed earlier this year. As the file size was an important limitation of the website, I have reduced the image size from the very beginning, and then I started to use those magic tools provided in the Photoshop. I have selected the area that I wanted to work on by the select tool which is similar to the MsPaint tool but has options for rectangle, circle, and single horizontal and vertical row as well and pasted onto a new one.

The following steps would essentially be working on the desired tools. Filter menu includes 14 groups of different filters. These filters allow us to apply different effects to the image, from painting effects to lighting effects. Some I found are very useful and easy to work on but some are bizarre, therefore I only experienced with the filters that I found comfortable with through this project. For example developing the distort view, I have used the angle function in both wave and twirl tool to create a wavy-like movement and ripple tool as well. For further image effect I applied the blur function to build a haziness texture which reveals there is no exact in the image. There is another important filter which I used quite a lot is the lighting effects that forms quite special lightening results of the image. I have picked up the delft three down of style option and the little picture at the left side has appeared three circles each allows us to create different angles?lighting effect and the light type I have chosen was the spotlight which gives a vague impression. In addition to modify more variety of rich colors I used most of the tools included in to image’s adjustment menu. In this piece I applied the Hue/Saturation which gives three different adjustments for creating the colors then I would do a little change at the Brightness/Contrast. The final step was the wind effect which can be found in the stylize filter under the filter menu. The method has wind, blast, and staggers and also provides the right/left different direction for the desires. Both last two images were completed from those performances and the result were both quite capable.

While I used the Photoshop to create the blue sky with some clouds as my back ground, I saved that as a gif file, therefore I am able to operate the image on the Adobe ImageReady, and I used the most comfortable techniques and the skills I learnt during the class. I used layers to create the images on the background, then so I can move the image easily, and put on all the text I want to write. As well as the aircraft as my movement image on the blue-sky background, this shows the dropping-words movement from the moving craft to the viewers.

Through completing the assessment, I have leant more techniques and feel more comfortable with both two programs, which are Photoshop and Adobe ImageReady. However there are still a lot of performances I desired to use but unfortunately do not feel familiar with them, that makes the work slowed down and perhaps have some errors while doing this task. Due to limitation of the size image, the quality of colors with the gif file is not looks good as a professional images. At the end of this assignment, I leant how to break down an animation into separate image, and working on them then joined the image together to presenting the whole animation. The final task was to form a complete HTML site by using the images and animation I have been working on. There were some difficulty for me due to the computer system error was not working for HTML at home so the only place would be university computer lab and that took about two weeks to get it done. However I have completed the task and I am appreciated.

In conclusion, however I personally believed that this assignment is quite useful and practical, because it seems very basic for the high technology world these days, mostly everything are using through the electronic messages, example for television or internet on the computer. All sorts of websites are created incredibly interesting through adding those images comparing to mine are still a distance. Although this is only a base of the multimedia technology world, somehow I still believed that if I have practiced more I can do it, too.
