Smothered Hope

withered rope you hang
whats empty cant remain
to put simply in time
cry the hollow words
to sing with false disguise
smothered hope fly from sorrow
for a new divine tomorrow
I just dont want to know anymore
life shifts up and down
everybody knows its wrong
why dont you care?
now do it seem fair?
its not in the rhyme or reason
so it goes with every season
crawl to top fall through bottom
first hand love is really rotten
slice of life find whats plenty
inch towards a sanctuary light
with me inside the womb
I know everyone everybody knows its me
its my voice, my voice crys out obscenity
sightless eye regard my past
sometimes it should
I just dont want to know anymore.

When I'm Gone

When I come to the end of my journey
And I travel my last weary mile,
Just forget if you can, that I ever frowned
And remember only my smile.
Forget unkind words I have spoken
Remember some good I have done
Forget that I ever had heartache,
And remember I've had lots of fun.
Forget that I've stumbled and blundered,
And sometimes fell by the way
Remember I've fought some hard battles,
And won, by the close of day.
Then forget to grieve for my going
I would not have you sad for a day
But in summer, just gather some flowers,
And remember the place where I lay.
And come in the shade of the evening
When the sun paints the sky in the west
Stand for a few moments beside me,
And remember only my best.
