KC's Obituary
On the afternoon of Friday, August 2nd, 2002, the sun and stars shed their gentle tears for a glorious individual. The ocean, for an instance, seized like a serene river flowing from city to city. My dear friend KC departed from this world from a shattered heart inflicted by the people of this earth. In my last conversation with the tender and loving KC, he spoke of a world without greed and selfishness. He uttered to me with trembling lips, “I only wanted them to see and acknowledge…to acknowledge the work I’ve done for this world…all it took was a single signature of dedication…” At that moment, I could feel his very soul; his essence and understood my lifelong friend and his devotion to this world. Many have considered him a hero but he is far greater that that. Superman, Franklin Delanor Roosevelt, Clara Barton, Ernesto ‘Che’ Guevara are all heroes but KC surpasses them and enters the list consisting of Mother Teresa and Martin Luther King Jr.. He, like so many other legends, gave everything he had to those in poverty and those that were ill. He happily passed without a single possession except that of friendship and love bestowed to him by all his friends and followers. In his very last words, as the shade of death nearly encompassed him, he quoted and responded to the great Martin Luther King saying, “”Life’s most urgent question is: What are you doing for others?” What am I doing for others? The question is; what haven’t I done for others? I’ve given so much and got nothing in return…” He lived a fulfilling life and enjoyed serving others but died not so much lonely and bitter, but tired and disappointed. A life of servitude has been lost symbolizing possibly the loss of a culture and the natural tendencies of kindness. But despite the death of a hero, life will continue on and we will again walk amongst our peers, but only this time, we will walk alone, freehandedly with God shining down on us as well as our beloved KC…
Note: This is not an actual obituary! He didn't actually pass away...he just went away...don't worry, he'll be back when school starts...
