Mountain Biking is a weird sport. You don't play on a team, you don't help each other out, you don't have to rely on anyone else. You are a solo rider, just you, your bike, and the mountain. Freeriding is an even weirder sport, because you can't really classify it. We are not Cross Country riders, because our idea of fun is not riding up a mountain as fast as we can, and then puke at the top. We are not really Down Hill riders either, because we are not fat and lazy(except me). We are definitely not trials riders, because we have suspension. But, we are a mix of all those, and more. We are not XC, but we still win the races we are in, and we get to the top faster than those spandex wearing guys. We are not DH, but we can kick it over massive doubles, and drop 10 feet with the best of them. We are not trials riders, but we can bunnyhop higher than most people can jump. We ride because we love to do it. If I had to classify us, I would call us DHXCTrials riders, but we don't drink beer, shave our legs, or ride fully rigid bikes(but we would if we had the money to get one).
