The Fog

Everyone decided to go back to their rooms. It was only 7 PM and they would be eating in an hour. Teri was refusing to talk to anyone now, upset that no one would believe her. She had known what she had seen and it scared her. This place was haunted and she wanted out now.

Teri, Laura, and Emily all entered their room. Teri went right over to the one bed and plopped down on it, not even acknowledging the others. Laura took one look at her and quickly motioned Emily outside. Once out in the hall, Laura started speaking.

“I’m worried about Teri, do you really think she saw something down there?”

Emily shook her head. “I really don’t know, I want to believe her but.....do things like that really happen? I mean, ghosts and stuff.”

Laura sighed. “I don’t know. I’ve got this feeling though that something else is gonna happen soon, I don’t know what though.”

“Come on, let’s go back into the room, we’ll talk to everyone at dinner.”

Laura nodded and followed Emily into the room, still unable to shake the bad feeling she had.

.........................

AJ and Justin had gone back into their room and AJ was now throwing a fit about what Teri had said.

“Ugh...I don’t believe her! This place is NOT haunted! I don’t know what the fuck she’s talking about, crying and everything. She probably imagined the whole damn thing!!”

Justin nodded, not knowing what to say. In the back of his mind he was thinking about what he had seen down that hall when he’d been with Chris and Laura.

“Yo Justin! Ya with me?” AJ yelled at him, waving his hand in front of Justin’s face.

“Huh? What did ya say?”

AJ gave him a weird look. “I said, wake me up in about an hour so we can go down and eat with everyone.”

“Yeah sure,” Justin replied, “hey, I’m gonna go and umm....talk with JC, ok?”

“Yeah whatever,” AJ mumbled, starting to fall asleep.

“See ya.” Justin grabbed the flashlight off of the dresser and headed out the door. He really wasn’t going to see JC, he was going to see what that fog was that had been hanging in the middle of the fourth hallway.

Justin looked up and down the hall making sure no one was out there to stop him from going. The hallway was deserted fortunately. He quickly walked out of the hall and started heading for the fourth one. He stopped in front of the entrance and took a deep breath. “Come on Justin, you can do this.” he told himself quietly.

With that, he started walking down the hall, his eyes darting everywhere. He shivered slightly, noticing a slight draft coming from somewhere. “Damn, this place looks even creepier then before.”

He continued walking, jumping at even the slightest noises, thinking maybe this wasn’t such a great idea. He turned around one of the corners and his flashlight caught on the fog, still hanging in the middle of the hallway. It was an extremely thick fog and it swirled around slightly, Justin couldn’t even see through it. He shivered again, noticing that it had gotten even colder.

“What the hell is that? Why would a fog be in the middle of a hall?” he thought to himself. He started to slowly walk towards it, unsure if he really should be doing that. He turned his head and looked behind him, only seeing nothing but shadows cast from the candles. Justin continued walking towards the fog until finally he stopped right in front of it, considering going into it. Before he even decide, he felt a tug and was yanked right into the middle of the fog.

“What the ---” he stuttered. He reached for his flashlight but it was gone. “Oh great....just great....this is exactly where I wanted to be.” He started to turn around but heard a noise and stopped in his tracks. Suddenly, all Justin heard around him were strange voices. They were all saying something but it wasn’t loud enough for him to hear what.

His eyes widened, not believing what was going on. Had Teri been right? Was this place really haunted? He started to slowly back out of the fog when something caught his eye. Justin could see the end of the hall, for some reason, through the fog in front of him. At the end, was a door but it looked nothing like all of the other doors, it was a bright gold color and clearly stood out.

“What is that?” Justin started walking towards it. Before he knew, he stood in front of the door, the fog still swirling around him. He slowly lifted his hand and turned the knob. Justin stepped into a dark, gray looking room with not much light. It had no windows or doors. What he saw in there made him sick and he felt like running. In the room were a bunch of skeletons either hanging or leaning against the wall. The weird thing though was that they were bleeding, their blood was pouring all over the floor. Justin gasped and turned to run out of the room but as soon as he turned, the door behind him snapped shut.

“No...get me out of here!” he yelled. He grabbed the handle and tried to turn it but the door was locked and wouldn’t budge. He slammed himself against it but it was no use. Then behind him, he heard a noise. Justin slowly turned around and stared in shock, not believing what he was seeing. The skeletons were starting to come alive and were slowly getting up and starting to walk towards him. The blood was pouring out of them faster and they started to chant something. As they got closer he could tell what they were saying. “Die, die, die.” they were saying.

Justin screamed but it was no use, the skeletons kept coming towards him, the blood pouring faster and faster out of them till the floor was covered with it. Justin pushed himself as far up against the wall as he could, crying out for help. The skeletons were almost on top of him though, grinning at Justin evilly. But before they could lay a hand on him, the floor pulled out from beneath him and he fell into darkness.
