Chapter Four
The Search

Meanwhile, when Teri was in the other hall, Brian had just caught up with Nick in
the other one.
“Aww come on Bri, I was just having a little fun,” Nick protested while Brian
dragged him out of the hall.
As soon as they were back to their hallway Brian stopped and faced Nick. “I
know you were having fun but you know how Teri is right now! She’s the most
scared out of anyone right now, you had no right to do that!!” he yelled in Nick’s
face.
“Well maybe she shouldn’t be such a scardy cat and actually get some guts for
once!” Nick shot back.
“How dare you say anything like that about her....” Brian started.
Just then all of the others came out of their rooms and broke up the fight.
“Yo, just calm down you guys,” Howie said, coming between them, “what is
going on here?”
“Yeah, you guys woke me up!!” AJ said in annoyance.
“AJ shut up man,” Kevin said, as equally annoyed, he then turned to Nick and
Brian, who were still staring each other down. “Ok, what started this?”
Brian started explaining. “Teri came to me and Nick’s room to talk and Nick
thought is would be funny to scare her and he jumped on her. Me and her
chased him through the halls and I finally caught up with him. He started making
fun of Teri for being scared and I got all pissed at him.”
“Being a little too overprotective I think,” Nick mumbled.
“Well, she is one of my best friends!” Brian shot back.
“Just calm down you two!” JC yelled, sounding like Kevin and AJ.
They all fell silent. Laura finally figured something out. “Hey, you guys, where is
Teri?”
“Um...she was behind me last I saw,” Nick said.
All of a sudden, they heard a scream echo through the upstairs. They all jumped
and looked at each other in horror.
“Oh shit, that could not have been...” Justin started.
“TERI!!” Brian yelled out. They all started running down the hall.
“WOAH!! HOLD UP EVERYONE!!!!” Kevin yelled out. They all stopped in their
tracks.
“Come on Kev, we gotta go help her!” Nick said, shocked that Kevin was still
standing there.
“I know, but there’s no use if all of us go. Some of us should stay here. I know
all of you want to look for her, but who’s gonna stay?”
“I’ll stay with ya Kev,” Emily said.
Lance, JC, Howie, AJ, and, Joey all decided to stay also. Laura, Nick, Brian,
Justin, and Chris would go look for Teri. Kevin handed them some flashlights and
they took off.
“Ok,” Brian said, “me and Nick will go down this second hall. Justin, you, Laura,
and Chris go down the last hall since me and Nick were already in the third one
and we didn’t see her down there. Just don’t get lost, ok?”
“Got it,” Justin said, “meet ya back here.”
“Ok, good luck,” Brian said.
“Yup, you too,” Chris said.
Laura looked thoroughly upset but was willing to go and help look for her friend.
“Don’t worry Laura, we’ll find her,” Nick said trying to comfort her. All Laura
could do in reply was nod.
With that, they went their separate ways. Nick and Brian headed down the
second hall and Justin, Chris, and Laura, headed down the fourth one, both
groups unsure of what they would find down there.
