Well we have so much free time on our hands in IFS we went to go see the Eglin air show, featuring the Thunderbirds.
There they are again almost as cool as the Blue Angels.
One of the two F-18 super hornets at the air show.
This is a T-45 Goshawk, the aircraft used to train Navy and Marine pilots to fly jets.
Sean and Matt who went to the show with me watching the Thunderbirds perform with a P-51 Mustang in front of them.
Me and Tom filling up at the fuel pit after a day of flying.
During that day of flying we had a couple F-15's taxi right behind us...
...and a Navy trainer helicopter fly over us (what we would train in if we go helos).
This is the day of our first solo, this is Tom flying around all alone in the plane.
The view at Crestview, it was a good day to solo.
Tom taxing back in after soloing.
This is my sad attempt at trying to take a picture of myself while soloing for the first time.
Yeah lately our house has become everyone's weekend gettaway place to crash. We get our money's worth outta our futons.
Then back to flying, this is a F-15 landing right in front of us.
Two F-15's flying in the pattern at Eglin.
Now they are landing at the same damn time, those crazy airforce guys.
After our first solo we had our check ride where we are evaluated by another instructor.
The sunset over the bridge on I-10 on our way back from Eglin.
After another weeks worth of flying its back to the beach.
After another hard days worth of volleyball, its off to bar-b-qing and drinking.
Finally almost done with IFS, the end is in site. This is Tom getting ready to take-off on his solo cross country flight to Andalusia, AL.
Woohoo solo cross country time. Look ma no hands.
OK, OK, stop yelling, I'll use one hand.
