Eirtaé is one of Queen Amidala's handmaidens from The Phantom Menace. According the Epsiode I Visual Dictionary, she comes from a wealthy family and helps the Queen with royal protocol.

Backstory
My brother had an extra Queen Amidala Final Battle, so I offered to repaint it to add some diversity to his collection. I decided to paint the figure like Eirtaé, since she would be the easiest handmaiden to do. I found a couple of vague reference photos and set out to begin painting.

The hair To get the final hair color right, I ended up painting about three layers of different colors. I started with a really light lemon yellow shade, and then brushed over with gold. The gold was too shiny, so I mixed some brown with the yellow and touched up on a few spots. By dry brushing over the hair with brown I added a textured look which I think turned out rather well. To prevent the acrylic paint from chipping off (which it unfortunately does sometimes) I applied a layer of Delta Creamcoat Satin Interior Varnish over her hair. It adds a slight sheen, but it blends in with the plastic shine on the rest of the figure. |

Comparison
Here are two shots of the Queen and Eirtaé together. Basically all I did was paint her hair and eyes. I left the rest of the body the same, since the other Amidala figure was painted slightly differently to begin with. Overall, she was a very simple custom to do, and I would recommend it if you have an extra Queen Amidala figure lying around. |
