Foot-Washing Sin

There are a few Scripture verses where males (not women) were told to remove their shoes (though not their socks) when standing alone in the presence of God. They are: Exodus 3:5 (Moses at the Burning Bush), Joshua 5:15 (Joshua encountering The Commander of the Army of the LORD), Isaiah 20:2 (involved with bare-buttocks nakedness exposure in that case), and Acts 7:33 as a recap of Exodus 3:5.

In contrast, there are more Bible verses telling people to keep their shoes on, such as: Song 7:1 (giving a sexually-oriented description of the footsteps rather than the feet of His Beloved in correctly-translated Bibles), Jeremiah 2:25 (informing harlots to not go barefooted in their immoral lusting), Ezekiel 24:17,23 and Luke 15:22 (shodding the returned prodigal son).

Sandal removal against a man was to be done by an indignant widow as a punishment for copulation refusal according to Deuteronomy 25:9-10, for purchasing such property as a woman in Ruth 4:7-8, and by sandal-thong loosener John the Baptist in John 1:27.

Sandals are also mentioned in Matthew 3:11 referring to Baptist John being a sandals-carrier, plus Mark 1:7 and Luke 3:16 and Acts 13:25 as one who stoops down and unties sandals. Sandals are meant to be worn according to Exodus 12:11, Deuteronomy 29:5, I Kings 2:5, and Acts 12:8. Sandals possession is inferred in II Chronicles 28:15, Amos 8:6, Matthew 10:10, Mark 6:9, and Luke 10:4.

Recently a so-called church "father" - for whatever questionable cause(s) - did a footwashing service on Maunday Thursday in his attempt to sensationally and self-righteously imitate Christ and what Christ Jesus did at His Last Supper to His Twelve Disciples. Without qualifying that males only were invited to participate, other men's wives and young women also bared their right (not left) feet for him to gaze at and fondle with hands or towel.

One wonders at his unpredictably-selective (and thus sinful?) inconsistency in not washing female feet for every eucharist service each Sunday. Maybe his next move will be eating Christ's flesh and blood three times each day facing Jerusalem. Or having the women lay down on their backs nude-legged with miniskirts lifted back exposing their panty-less privates in misapplication of Isaiah 3:17 and 47:1-3 when getting footwashed (if he determines that they have not sufficiently bathed all over already). In any case, the man is getting rather scary in his cultic-catholic over-ritualism and ceremonialism!

Did not the partially-deviant angli-apocryphal priest actually and wickedly violate Christ's command to wash each person's feet by not washing BOTH feet of each young woman?

Keep in mind that neither Jesus nor any of His disciples ever washed the right nor left foot nor feet of the penitent dying thief on a cross. Nor did they wash the foot nor feet of Noah or Billy Graham. Does it matter that neither Noah nor Billy was alive during their lifetimes? If they did not wash the feet of dead Lazarus, was that not rebellion against the Almighty also?

Why did the Lord command His Twelve Disciples to wash each other's feet? What was the point? What was He after?

Was He trying to promote humility? Could we not prove humility nowadays by bending down and tying loose shoestrings of those dinosaur-minded who still wear laced and not slip-on shoes? Are there not ANY other ways to exhibit humility other than having people expose semi-private body parts and then engage in First-Corinthians-7:1-defying fornication and adultery erotically massaging such?

Was He trying to promote cleanliness and hygiene? In our modern day and age, we are generally not afflicted with Middle-East desert dust accumulating on our feet, and wearing socks helps greatly pertaining to that. For men, boots are not uncommon, though if socks are not changed, foot odor can occur. But why does someone else need to wash our feet when we can do it ourselves conveniently and sanitarily for hygience in our own bathrooms in a flowing-water shower and not a messy basin of dirty standing water inside the front of some church sanctuary?

The strange customs of a foreign culture have been made by some pick-and-choose apostates into suppressing and depressing religious legalism, clearly revealing that they neither possess the spirit of the Law nor the Atoning Redeemer who gave the holy directives within His Word.
