Becky Wallin: Band Instruments Instructor

(Clarinet, Flute, Oboe, Bassoon, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, French Horn, Baritone, Tuba, Percussion)

Becky has a Bachelors Degree in Music Education from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire. She has a teaching license and is certified to teach Instumental Music to students Kindergarten through 12th grade. She was accepted into the Minnesota All State Band for two years in High School. At college, she performed as a member in the orchestra and the top band, the Wind Ensemble. She won the first annual Wind Ensemble Concerto Competition and as a result she performed as a soloist with the Wind Ensemble. Becky has been playing the clarinet for 16 years. She has performed as a soloist in two of her own clarinet recitals and as a member in a woodwind quintet in college. She studied clarinet with Dr. Richard Fletcher for five years and french horn with Mr. Tom Gilke for one year. And in college she studied each of the following band instruments for four months: Flute, Oboe, Bassoon, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Baritone, Tuba, and Percussion. Becky worked as a private lesson instructor for Schmitt Music for two years while she was in college. She taught Band to students in grades 7-12 at Melrose High School from September of 2000 through January of 2001 and she also taught sixth grade band at Vandenberge Junior High for the 2002-2003 school year.

Becky enjoys teaching band instruments because she loves music and possesses gifts as a music performer and music educator and chooses to share those gifts by way of teaching.
