DISCLAIMER: Philosophical Topics
Theoretical Ramblings on the Nature of the Universe

Reality Meltdown - 12/01/02

My first topic is going to be an analysis of the composition of human studies. There is a concept began in the notion of evolution, is that the shape, form, existance of a creature is inherited by all the creatures that came before it. This notion is often considered when examinging the human embryo. At the beggining sttages, the original cell grows to a ball, a fish-like creature, a frog-like animal, an ape, until finally a human form. To reach the higher bounds of any subject is to pass through all the ones that came before.

Consider, then, basic school subjects. Math is perhaps, one of the most basic. It is reason and logic, it is right brain. Since this analysis is done using reason, it seems most fitting that our standard will be derived form the process from which it has emerged.

Humans have taken reason and logic, and created math. Math obeys reason and logic. All sides of an equation are equal. Cause and effect have definite results, and definate laws.
Reason breeds Math.

When studying physics, one first considers the primal states of energy. But the working of energy, when analyzed, is conducted through math formulas. Algebra and calculus can be used to describe every faucet of energy. All equations are equal, and so is all the energy of the universe. Energy cannot be made nor destroyed.
Reason breeds Math which breeds Physics.

Chemistry is the study of matter. It shared many of the same principles. Matter, like energy, cannot be made or destroyed. In fact, in nuclear reactions, matter IS energy. Then chemistry is made up of physics and math.
Reason breeds Math which breeds Physics which breeds Chemistry.

Think then, on biology. When one studies biology, the basic processes of life are revealed. But the nitty gritty study fo biology, is chemistry. How life is strung out on various chemicals and how they interact to form a single cell, many cells, a being.
Reason breeds Math which breeds Physics which breeds Chemistry which breeds Biology.

How about psychology? The study of the human mind. While many theories have been given as to why we act the way we do, most research by psychologists now, is based on biology. How the various chemicals and cells in the body respond inside the brain to create and define our thoughts.
Reason breeds Math which breeds Physics which breeds Chemistry which breeds Biology breeds Psychology.

You can begin to see the pattern. Sociology studies things based on psychological understandings. History studies sociology. And english, studies history.

Reason <- Math <- Physics <- Chemistry <- Biology <- Psychology <- Sociology <- History <- English <- Creativity

It seems to me, that this progression, too, has changed. The progression from Reason to math is high in logic. But as the science fades (Psycology has been referred to as a soft science, and thus makes a nice median) the reason and definitions of each stage are less distinct and less logical. But they still are. Abstract sybolism of concepts creates english pieces which are written in a period of time, and thus can be studied for historical value, which can then define a society inside of it, composed of individual workings of humans and their mental processes. So then can logic be creativity, to be abstract. And the progression can go the other way, as well. Which, following the logical rules, would imply that reason and creativity are one and the same.

We now have an intresting construct to consider. Since everything is built on everything else,a dn thus must share their rules, could ruels we have prooven, we believe be applied to new situations? It must be.

I would say the corner stone of physics, of math, of logic is equality. That two things are equal. That all reactions are equal. Taken farther and farther you could consider remote topics. In all matters, something proceeds from a source. Anger at an individual then make their day bad, and they take it out on someone else, who then becomes mad, and again to someone else, in a cycle. The anger is not created, it is merely transferred. Think of the world's greatest figures. Gandhi, Christ, Buddha all arose because people had problems. The caste system's mistreatment of individuality, the persecution of Jews and remorse for mistakes, and suffering itself inspired each respectavely. It's a conservation of energy, a property of equality. The pain, the discomfort have made great joy possible. What cure can be applied before the sickness?

But, then, what of humanity? Suffering and elation will always been even. Only in the place of great hate can anyone feel great love.

Human happiness then, is impossible. We cannot all be happy. And great happiness must be achieved upon the backs of others. Optomism and Pessimism are inaccurate, utopia a hopeless dream. Stoics have taken this philosopy and rejected the swings, but within the same concept.

Consider, then, the cause and effect of every reaction. It affects everything.
