April 2005

RealityMeltdown - 04/30/05 - 10:45 AM

Why the hell am I up at 10:45?

Is anyone else disturbed by an "alternate ending"?
I'm aware it's difficult to end stories. Most authors don't begin with an ending in mind.
However when something has reached a published medium... shouldn't they have decided by the time they started sending money producing something? Even books wind up at a publisher and then takes money for corrections and revisions. So when something finished has an alternate ending it means they couldn't make up their damn mind.
And especially when that ending reveals character traits. The character can't have all those little details.

There's a second comic up.

Here's another, finally.

I think I had something else to say, but whatever it was, it can wait.

I hate an entire verb tense.

That's a pretty big percentage of the world of English.

I hate any sentence involving or implying the word "you".

Don't get me wrong, some uses are ok. "Could you grab that for me?" "Are you angry?" "Are you wearing pants?". Questions are ok. They ask me for my opinion. Just about every other use implies that someone outside of me can speak on my behalf. When someone says "But you'd never do that", it irritates the hell out of me.

It happens on TV. I hate that the most. I can't even be mad at someone, it's just the TV trying to tell me who I am. How dare they presume to know me when they send the same thing to every human on the planet.

Maybe I'll begin a long rambling accusation at the next person to try and tell me about myself. And isn't a doctor of some kind.

Here's another update from your one webmaster. There will be more stuff coming, but I kind of need to finish a couple other things first before I can focus. Meltdown's suddenly developed a mild passion for this site again and wants to do more comics, probably because he doesn't have to do any of the work. We'll have more, but probably not until later this week or sometime next week.

I've also begun talking to myself lately. I used to get annoyed when people would do that, but now that I've tried it for myself, I've found it to be fun.

More. Don't pay too much attention to the artwork. I actually can draw better than that but I choose not to.

This one continues the epic saga that began in the last one. It's also got an all new fourth panel. Again, Meltdown shares responsibility for this.

I was out at a local electronics store not letting the terrorists win and I noticed that the first two seasons of "Boys Meets World" are out on DVD. That was kind of frustrating. Speaking of which, if I ever go another wedding there's going to be a bomb strapped to my chest. And where did all these churches come from? I hate that.

Finally, we have a real update now. Was it worth the wait? Good lord no, but it's better than nothing . . . in some ways, at least. It's a new comic. Meltdown actually decided to unbind his ass from his couch and help me with this one. Actually, the whole concept was his idea, so if you hate it, be sure to harass him too.

Also, today is April Fool's day, and it doesn't appear that we'll be doing anything this time. Sure, we could make up a bunch of fake articles again, but everyone does that now, and it's gotten a really stupid. If you want trite, puerile news that badly, just flip on one of the regular news channels and watch the countdown to the Pope's death.
